The Natural Resources Institute (NRI – https: // www. nri.org/) of the University of Greenwich carries out specialised research, teaching, training, and consultancy with a focus on food, agriculture, environment and sustainable livelihoods.

NRI is currently expanding its team of staff delivering its food and development economics programme, more generally in empirical economic analysis. NRI's work is globally respected and has won many awards including a recent Queen's Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education. The Institute is located at the University's vibrant Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, Kent.

NRI is looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Development Economics to monitor project implementation and conduct high quality research and data analysis related to “Economic and Empowerment Impacts of Millet Processing and Value Addition Enterprises by Women SHGs in Tribal Areas of Odisha” project under Swashakt Evidence Programme, funded by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will develop research and/or enterprise activities in related areas.

The successful candidate will have some experience in developing research designs and implementing them in rural areas of developing countries, field experience in collecting quantitative project and household survey data in developing countries, and a track record in relevant research and/or enterprise activities.

This post is available on a part time basis (50%) FTE for a fixed period of two years.
