Description
The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Memphis has an opening for a postdoctoral position focusing on surface water-groundwater interactions. Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or have successfully defended their dissertation prior to the start date) with a background in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or Hydrology. Furthermore, the qualified candidate is expected to have knowledge about physical hydrology, specifically flow in porous media, with a focus on hyporheic exchange and vadose zone hydrology, and/or the interactions between stream and groundwater. Strong written and spoken English skills are needed.
The successful candidate will (1) develop and conduct experimental work (lab and field) and data analysis, (2) contribute to teaching, and (3) collaborate with writing research manuscripts and research proposals.
