We are seeking a talented Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work with Prof. Roger Colbeck on quantum random number generators (QRNGs). The project will either involve studying current commercial or near-commercial QRNGs with a view to accurately assess the amount of quantum randomness they can produce, or investigating the best way to make device-independent QRNGs more practical. This is a theoretical project that will involve interaction with experimental groups and/or commercial partners.
The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Mathematics at the University of York and connected either to the AQuRand project or the Quantum Communications Hub. This is a full-time position with a fixed term of one year. The start date is 1st November 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
