Research Assistant – Initiating the Neonatal and Paediatric Programme Learning Group

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team at the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health. The Health Systems Collaborative (HSC) works in global health to link scientists from Oxford with scientists from low and middle-income countries to do research that improves the health of people across the world.

You will conduct a programme mapping study, supported by Professor Mike English- to identify, map and characterise programmes supported/delivered by UK organisations. This will employ a landscape analysis approach using internet searches, contacting key informants and snowballing to strategies to locate documents or key informants that provide descriptions of recent or current relevant programmes. These will be characterised and specific information on programme logical frameworks or Theories of Change sought from programme leaders. The aim will be to identify opportunities for within and across programme learning.It is essential that you hold a first degree, show evidence of prior academic achievement and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the area of health systems / health services to ensure you can review and critique established child health research programmes You will be able to work flexibly to meet deadlines, and be able to manage own research and administrative activities. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write rapid reports aimed at multiple stakeholders and text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings.
