英国牛津大学博士后职位发育与再生医学

Research Assistant in Developmental and Regenerative Medicine

University of Oxford

Description

The Simões group is interested in dissecting the dynamic cellular crosstalk and spatial relationships occurring between macrophages and the regenerating cardiac niche (https: // www. idrm.ox.ac.uk/research/cardiology/cardiology- research-groups/simoes-group).

The damage caused by a heart attack leads to a permanent loss of cardiac tissue in adult mammals. In contrast, zebrafish have the remarkable ability to regenerate their hearts after injury, even in the presence of scarring. Macrophages are integral to both repair by scar formation and tissue regeneration; however, the local environmental cues and cell-cell interactions that control distinct macrophage functions across the injured heart are largely unknown.

We propose to interrogate the interplay occurring between macrophages and the regenerating cardiac niche by combining a wide-range of state-of-the-art technologies to dissect the spatiotemporal dynamics of cellular microenvironments, identify extracellular and intercellular signalling networks and decipher how these converge to define macrophage identity, plasticity and function.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic researcher to join our team and to work alongside Dr Simões to further develop and adapt technologies like single-cell (epi)genomics, spatial-transcriptomics and proteomics, computational biology, imaging and genome-editing. The postholder will work on zebrafish models of adult heart regeneration and be involved in the continued effort of adapting these state-of-the-art technologies to interrogate the zebrafish cardiac niche.

The post is ideally suited for a candidate with an interest in developing a career that involves working at the interface of Developmental Biology, Immunology and Regenerative Medicine. Previous laboratory experience, including skills in advanced molecular biology methods and/or zebrafish work will be preferred, however all relevant training will be provided once on post. We welcome applications from individuals who would like to pursue a DPhil after completion of this contract.

The post is available from October 2022 (but can be flexible).

The post will be based in the Institute for Developmental and Regenerative Medicine, Old Road Campus, Old Road, Roosevelt Dr, Headington, Oxford OX3 7DQ

Informal enquiries may be directed to the DPAG HR Team – hr@dpag.ox.ac.uk or directly to Dr Simões (filipa.simoes@idrm.ox.ac.uk).

Closing date for applications is midday on 19th July 2022.

Interviews are likely to be held on 28th July 2022 (to be confirmed).
