This exciting one-year post is a unique opportunity for an experienced colleague to contribute to a UK-wide programme of research in Palliative and End of Life Care, the Marie Curie Better End of Life Care Programme https: // www. kcl.ac.uk/research/better-end-of-life-project

Working with colleagues at Cicely Saunders Institute, Kings College, London, and Wolfson Palliative Research Centre, Hull-York Medical School, the post- holder will be based in PELiCam, the Palliative and End of Life Care Group of the University of Cambridge https:// www. phpc.cam.ac.uk/pcu/research/research- groups/end-of-life-care/ a flourishing multidisciplinary research group based in East Forvie Building, on the Addenbrooke's Biomedical Campus in Cambridge.

Professor Stephen Barclay (Professor of Palliative Care) and colleagues are looking for a colleague to work on a programme of national research that is now in its second year of the three-year initial funding period. We are looking for someone with: a track-record of research in Palliative and End of Life Care or related areas; a strong understanding of the current landscape of UK PEoLC, health and social care services for people approaching the end of their lives; an understanding of the challenges and opportunities of undertaking research in Palliative and End of Life Care with patients, family members and their health and social care professionals. The post-holder will have a PhD in a relevant discipline or an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience. They will be skilled in working collaboratively as part of a team, communicating with colleagues in multi-disciplinary groups, presenting research in academic, professional presentations and writing journal papers and grant proposals.

The funds for this post are available for one year in the first instance.

While the post is advertised as full-time we welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working (at least 75% FTE).

The post will be based in the Primary Care Unit, East Forvie Building, University Forvie Site, Robinson Way, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge CB2 0SR (approx. 2 miles south of city centre). The post-holder will need to work at least two days per week in the Department.
