Department SASN - Biological Sciences Salary Open Posting Summary

A Post-Doctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Haesun Kim, in the Department of Biological Sciences at Rutgers University- Newark. The successful applicant will participate in research that uncovers the mechanisms underlying myelin abnormalities associated with human diseases. Funded by the NIH-NINDS, the new project investigates the impact of intracellular choline metabolism on myelin homeostasis and repair in the nervous system, and its implication in improving myelination under pathological conditions. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in the field of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related fields, and experience in the use of various biochemical and molecular techniques in conducting both in vitro and in vivo studies using mammalian cell cultures and transgenic mouse models, respectively. The candidate should have at least one first-author paper in a peer-reviewed journal. Good oral and written communication skills are required.
