澳大利亚墨尔本大学博士后职位/石墨复合阳极

Research Fellow in Silicon/Graphite Composite Anodes

University of Melbourne

Description

About the Role Fantastic opportunity to play a key role in our collaborative research project between industry partners and CSIRO, QUT and The University of Melbourne. The Super Anode Project is based within the Cooperative Research Centre for Future Battery Industries and aims to develop improved methods for the spheronisation and coating of graphite/silicon anodes, as well as investigate avenues for up- scaling of these processes.

The successful candidate should be familiar with Li-ion cell chemistry and have experience building and assembling both coin and pouch cells for performance testing. As part of a cross functional team you will assist in experimental planning and carrying out experiments and analysis regarding the inclusion of silicon materials into natural graphite-based anodes. This role also includes the fabrication of laboratory scale Li-ion anodes, electrode processing, laboratory scale Li-ion cell builds, and data analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  Working with our industry and research partners, develop an experimental plan for the inclusion of silicon in composite anodes.

  Defining the benchmark process for characterisation of industry standard graphite: silicon composite anodes.

  Considering various methodologies for the inclusion of silicon in graphite composite electrodes, i.e. hybridisation. Using AnteoCoat, characterise the physical and electrochemical properties in composite anodes using industry standard binders and electrolytes.

About You You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary team environment and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. Your problem solving and organisational skills ensure the effective management and completion of tasks within agreed deadlines.

You will also have:

  PhD in Materials, Chemistry, Physics or Engineering

  Extensive experience in working with silicon and the fabrication and characterisation of composite anodes for lithium-ion batteries

  Proficient in lab-scale electrode slurry mixing and electrode coating

  Experience in Li-ion cell fabrication, including electrode coating and cell assembly and familiarity with quality control methods used to evaluate the repeatability of assembly processes

For specific responsibilities of this role please refer to the attached Position Description.
