英国剑桥大学MRC认知和脑科学部(CBU)博士后职位

Research Associate

University of Cambridge

Description

The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBU) is an internationally renowned research institute of cognitive neuroscience. Onsite facilities include dedicated MRI and MEG scanners, a hearing laboratory, and the developmental research centre suitable for infants through to older children. The CBU is also a stakeholder in a clinical research facility and a new 7T ultra high field MRI scanner on the Addenbrooke's campus in Cambridge.

A postdoctoral position is available to conduct cutting edge neuroscience to isolate the mechanisms underlying adaptive forgetting. The postdoctoral fellow would contribute to work that integrates cognitive theory concerning memory, cognitive control, and affect with the neurobiological research at the systems and circuit levels, using advanced imaging methods as well as advanced connectivity and multivariate methods. The long-term aim is to understand how people regulate intrusive memories, thoughts, and feelings at multiple levels of analysis and to identify how those mechanisms break down in psychiatric disorders. The research thus lies at the interface of cognitive control, memory, and affect regulation and candidates with interest in any of these areas will be considered. Applicants with experience in functional or structural imaging are strongly encouraged to apply.

You will have a Ph.D. or be in the final stages of completing a PhD in a subject directly related to Cognitive, Computational, or Affective Neuroscience, or Psychiatry. You will have experience in neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG, or MEG), and be able to work independently on imaging and behavioural studies. Research expertise in any one or more of the following subjects would be especially welcomed: memory, cognitive control, attention, affect regulation, PTSD or Anxiety disorders. Although a key objective is to undertake behavioural and imaging studies, there is also wider scope for those interested in brain stimulation, computational modelling, and lesion analysis methods. The position is an ideal springboard for scientists interested in bringing advanced cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience to clinical neuroscience, to improve mental health.

For inquiries, contact Michael Anderson, by email: michael.anderson@mrc- cbu.cam.ac.uk. Further information on the unit can be found at https:// www. mrc- cbu.cam.ac.uk.

Fixed-term: 31 March 2027.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with adults' barred list). This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.

Closing Date: 10th October 2022
