The Babraham Institute is a charity which is world renowned for its research in life sciences to enhance lives and improve wellbeing.
An independent Postdoctoral Research Scientist is sought for a leadership role in the Liston lab. The role will be responsible for a research program on neuroimmunology, investigating microglia homeostasis in health, age and injury, and the interaction of microglia with T cells. The job holder will be embedded in the immunology programme and will be expected to contribute to high impact research in the Liston lab.
The role will involve work on molecular biology, high dimensional flow cytometry, imaging and sequencing-based technologies. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to perform experimental design, technique trouble-shooting, data generation and analysis. The job holder should have experience at either neuroscience or immunology, with neuroimmunology, T cell or microglia experience an asset. Applicants with expertise in only one of these areas are encouraged to apply, as the position enables growth in expertise.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in immunology or neurosciences. Previous experience in molecular biology, lentivirus/retrovirus production, CrispR screens, ultra-high parameter flow cytometry or cellular immunology techniques are all highly desirable and should be highlighted in the application. It is also highly desirable for the jobholder to have previous experience in running high impact immunological or neuroscience projects and have previous experience in mouse models of neuroimmune disease or injury.
This is a limited term appointment with funding for this post available for one year in the first instance, with potential extension available.

Applicants must hold a PhD or have their thesis submitted when commencing the post. Please note that you will be appointed on the starting salary of £31,550 per annum, if you have not yet been awarded your PhD.
