Wroclaw University of Science and Technology is looking for a candidate for the position of post-doc in the project funded by National Science Center, Poland in the framework of Sonata Bis 8 program. The successful candidate will conduct:

numerical investigation of properties of optical fibers with finite element method

numerical simulations of propagation of light in multimode and few-mode fibers (particularly, propagation of multimode solitons and intermodal frequency conversions processes)

numerical simulations supporting experimental works realized within project.

Successful candidate is expected to start contract on 01.01.2023. We welcome applications form candidates who will hold PhD at the beginning of the contract.

Benefits

salary 10 000 PLN/month (includes all taxes and employer costs, estimated salary netto is 6 500 PLN/month),

PhD in physics or related field obtained in last 7 years, the successful candidate will be expected to hold PhD at the beginning of the contract,

documented outstanding track record,

strong self-motivation of scientific work.

Specific Requirements

experience in numerical simulations is obligatory,

knowledge of MATLAB or python will be beneficial, but it is not necessary,

experience in modeling nonlinear light propagation of light in optical fibers will be beneficial, but it is not necessary.
