美国席德-西奈塞缪尔奥斯钦综合癌症研究所博士后科学家职位
Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute
Post-doctoral Scientist
Post-Doctoral Scientist Position in Sean Li Lab at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
Lab Description:
Cancer incidence and mortality are generally higher in males than in females, but its underlying biology remains elusive. Bladder cancer is the poster child of cancer sex differences, having male-to-female risk ratios ranking 1st in mortality and 2nd in incidence. Our lab specializes in using cutting edge -omics technologies, a wide range of innovative animal cancer models, and organoids to elucidate the biological mechanisms of sex differences in bladder cancer; we recently published several works that pioneer new concepts on sex as a biological variable in cancers (DOI: 10.1126/sciadv.aar5598; DOI: 10.1126/sciimmunol.abq2630).
We are inviting talented and interested candidates to join our scientific endeavor at the Cedars-Sinai Cancer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles – the new home of a well-established research program that first began at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Ongoing projects are examining the effects of genetics, epigenetics, immunity and microbiota on the sex and gender disparities in bladder cancer. We also have projects in benign urologic diseases such as bladder regeneration/repair. Successful candidates will have opportunities to hone research, critical thinking, scientific writing, and leadership skills, while taking part in leading a new and budding field of cancer research. This position will also provide incredible opportunities to work on translational disease models with the support of talented clinicians and researchers specializing in cancer immunology, microbiota, metabolism, etc.
Job Summary:
The Li Lab is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Scientist who can work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists. The successful candidate must be able to: (1) make significant contributions to project development, experimental design, data collection and interpretation, (2) present findings within and outside the lab including departmental and national meetings, (3) first author and co-author original research manuscripts.
