We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow in social epidemiology. We are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to collaborate with Dr. Natalie Slopen and Dr. Andrea Roberts on a research project using the Nurses' Health Study 3 cohort. The successful candidate will conduct innovative research that addresses questions of childhood exposures and viral infections across the life course. The project has relevance to long-term health outcomes, pregnancy conditions, and offspring health, and therefore is well suited to candidates with an interest in life course epidemiology.

We are particularly seeking individuals looking for training and research experience in areas relevant to epidemiologic methods, biostatistics, and immunology.

The resources of The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the Harvard T. H. Chan School overall will be available to the incoming fellow.

The Research Fellow will be responsible for:

Programming independent analyses

Writing the first draft of manuscripts

Basic Qualifications

Doctoral degree required (e.g. PhD, MD, DO, DVM, PharmD). Degree in Epidemiology, Environmental Health, or a related discipline preferred

Ability to manage multiple projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of and experience with spreadsheet, relational database, graphics, and word processing software.

Intermediate to advanced skills with at least one statistical software package is required, e.g., SAS, R.

Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.

Additional Qualifications

Experience with the Nurses' Health Study cohorts is desirable.
